Islington Health and History Walks: Dartmouth Park

Islington Health and History Walks: Dartmouth Park

By Islington Guided Walks

Overview

Enjoy a gentle guided walk around Dartmouth Park Reservoir exploring nature and heritage

Join Islington Guide Jen Pedler for a stroll through Dartmouth Park and the surrounding area.

The park has a superb panoramic view across London. On this walk we will admire this and identify the buildings that now dominate London's skyline, dwarfing St Paul's Cathedral which was the tallest building in London until 1963. The park is built around a covered reservoir. We'll learn why this is called the Maiden Lane Reservoir and also about the history of some of the buildings in the surrounding area.

The walk will take approximately 70 minutes.

Meet at 11am just inside the Dartmouth Park Hill entrance to Dartmouth Park. If you'd like to join us, email Jen travellingwoman@gmail.com or just turn up on the day.

We will finish in nearby Junction Road where there will be the option to socialise over tea or coffee at a local cafe.
