About this event

Charity & Causes • Environment

The Islington Repair Café is a free community event where participants will learn how to mend their clothes. Please bring along one or two items of clothing that are in need of repair and we will teach you how to mend them.

All our workshops are suitable for those with no previous skills and we will have examples of clothes that have been repaired, as well as materials to practice on. Please register to attend to secure your spot!

Alongside our clothing repair service, we’ll also be hosting a free upcycling workshop where you can turn old t-shirts into yarn and use them to create unique accessories such as bags, bracelets, and keychains. This upcycling workshop is beginner-friendly — no sewing experience is needed and all materials and equipment will be provided. Participants are welcome to bring a t-shirt or pair of jeans of their own to upcycle.

This event is presented by Traid in partnership with the London Borough of Islington.
