Description

Tuesday 16 April 2019 is ISM members’ day and we’re opening two of the days’ events to the public.

Join us at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire for a day of performances from 2018’s BBC Young Musician winners, both products of Birmingham’s thriving music scene, as well as informative sessions from selected musicians and music sector experts. You’re also invited to join fellow music professionals and music lovers for a networking lunch.

Xhosa Cole Quartet and Focus on music education

10.35am – 12.00pm

Join the audience for a special performance from BBC Young Jazz Musician of the Year 2018, Birmingham based saxophonist Xhosa Cole. Xhosa’s winning performance was described by judges as ‘heartfelt, sincere and communicative’. We’ll also be joined by music education experts Dr Alison Daubney and Professor Martin Fautley to discuss the current music education landscape.
