ISMAEL MIRANDA & JIMMY BOSCH “TWO BIG OF THE FANIA ALL STARS” - LIVE CONCERT AT LONDON SALSA FEST

Mambo City & Havana to Londres Ltd are proud to present these two LEGENDS, part of the famous La Fania all star Orchestra and Grammy award nominees will be performing at our first production of the London Salsa Festival.

ISMAEL MIRANDA
Ismael Miranda was born in the town of Aguada in Puerto Rico on 20 February 1950. At an early age he moved to New York and in 1966 he recorded his first musical success "Rumbón Melón" with Joey Pastrana. He then became part of the Harlow Orchestra in 1967, with which he recorded and achieved success with the song "Abran Paso". Ismael dabbled as a soloist in 1972, with a new recording called "Oportunidad". He also formed his own orchestra called "La Revelación" and recorded "Así se compone un son".

In 1974, the founders of The Fania, Jerry Masucci & Johnny Pacheco, asked Ismael to be part ofThe Fania All Stars, where he was baptised as "El Niño Bonito de la Salsa" (The Pretty Boy of Salsa). In the 80's, he achieved successes with The Fania, with songs such as “No me digan que es muy trade Ya" and “Galera Tres". Later Ismael created his own record label, under which he released several recordings including "Por el buen camino", of which the song "Careta" reached success in 1985.
In the year 2000, Ismael made several recordings under the direction of Gilberto Santa Rosa, entitled “Vengo con todo", "Tequila y ron" which was nominated for the Grammy in 2003. In 2005 the album “Edición Especial" reached no.1 on the Billboard chart with “Se fue y me dejo" featuring Andy Montañez & Cheka.

In 2014, after a successful tour to commemorate his 45th anniversary in salsa, Ismael met Víctor Manuelle, to whom he entrusted the production of his most recent record "Son 45". At the beginning of 2015 the song “Son 45” from the same mane album reached the First Place in the Billboard magazine in the “Air Play” category. Miranda became the second member of the Fania All-Star to reach no.1. The only other person to previously reach no.1 was Celia Cruz.

Ismael returned to make history, when he released "Bajo, piano y bongo" and returned to no.1 on the Billboard charts in the same category, thus becoming the most successful among the members of Fania. As if that were not enough, this recording has also been nominated for the Latin Grammy in the category "Best Salsa Album".

Ismael became a legend playing with the Fania All Stars and Harlow Orchestra also recording more than 30 Albums as a solo artist with songs such as “Asi se compone un Son”, “Guasasa”, “Careta”, “Abran Paso” just to name a few.
