About the Tour
Join us to start the year with a great Day Trip to visit St Andrews, one of Scotland's most finest towns on the east coast of Scotland. Worldwide, it is known as the 'Home of Golf', the sport having been played there for 600 years and its Old Course, arguably the most famous golf course in the world. The beautiful town also boasts Scotland's oldest University, the University of St Andrews, also the third oldest in the English-speaking world! Prince William and his wife Kate both graduated from St Andrews University! You will be enchanted by the university's elegance, its buildings, delightful quadrangles and gardens. As you walk through the town's Medieval centre, you will find yourself back in time with its cobble stone streets and narrow alleyways. You will have plenty of time to visit St Andrews with your knowledgeable Tour Guide but you will also have so much free time. There is a lot to see including visiting the romantic St Andrews Castle, the impressive St Andrews Cathedral, the oldest Golf Course in the world, the beautiful sandy beach in St Andrews, where the famous opening sequence of Chariots of Fire was shot, Art Museums, Botanic Gardens and North Point Cafe (where Kate and William used to meet), etc...
This day trip also includes visiting Queensferry to see Scotland's most iconic bridge, the world famous Forth Rail Bridge crossing the Firth of Forth, filmed in 'The 39 Steps'. We will also make a short stop at 'The Kelpies', the impressive magnificent largest horse heads sculptures by Andy Scott. So, CAN'T BE MISSED!
