Description
We are pleased to share with you the agenda for ISWAN’s Seminar on “Working in partnership, seeking practical solutions” in Helsinki on Friday 23rd November 2018, and we would be delighted if you can join us.
Hosted by ISWAN and the Finnish Seamens Service, the Seminar will take place at Helsinki University, Unioninkatu 40, Helsinki, and is a full day event open to all individuals concerned with providing seafarers with the highest standard of welfare services and facilities. Delegates and speakers will come from a number of different countries and from different sectors of the maritime industry: shipping companies, trade unions, welfare agencies, academia and government.
The one-day seminar will explore the work of partnership in:
Implementation of the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC) 2006
Removing obstacles to seafarers’ welfare
Health and wellbeing of seafarers
Supporting women in the maritime industry
Abandonment of seafarers
Increasing the effectiveness of port welfare
