Description

With Carlo Vinti and Jeremy Aynsley

"Italian Graphic Design" is a series of six encounters about graphic design and visual communication in Italy in the 20th century. Six chapters of a possible history of Italian graphic design, conceived in order to understand the role of graphic designers in giving shape and identity to Italy’s social, economic and cultural landscape.

In the fifth event of the series, Carlo Vinti and Jeremy Aynsley will talk about the relationship between graphic design and industry, from advertising to instruction manuals, from corporate image to informative leaflets.

Under the patronage of:
AGI – Alliance Graphique Internationale
AIAP – Associazione Italiana Design della Comunicazione Visiva

Carlo Vinti is Professor of Graphic Design and Visual Communication at the University of Camerino. He wrote in particular about history of graphic design and corporate image. In 2012 he co-curated, together with Mario Piazza and Giorgio Camuffo, the exhibition “Triennale Design Museum 5. Grafica Italiana” at the Triennale Design Museum in Milan.

Jeremy Aynsley leads the Research Cluster Internationalising Design History at the University of Brighton. He is also Chair of the Design History Society. As well as his major academic publications, his expertise as a design historian has led to the curation of design exhibitions and research leadership with prestigious institutions including the V&A and the Royal College of Art, the Wolfsonian Florida International University and Parsons, the New School for Design, New York.
