Notes for attending students. 1. All attendees on the course are required to bring some form of identification to satisfy the due diligence requirements of the awarding body. 2. You will be required to take part in practical exercises, including laying on the floor and interacting with other students. If you cannot physically complete the exercises you may not be assessed as competent in first aid. 2. Please can all attendees wear comfortable clothing which will maintain your modesty when you participate in the practical exercise. 3. Refreshments are available at the on-site restaurant (not included in course cost).

Event description

Description

The ITC Emergency First Aid at Work may be more suitable for lower-risk work environments. Successfully completing the ITC Emergency First Aid at Work will enable the candidate to act as a first aider in the workplace.

Successful candidates will be able to act as a first aider in their workplace, carrying out an area assessment and recognition of major and minor illness. On completion of the training, successful candidates will:

  • Understand the roles and responsibilities of a first aider, including assessing an incident.

  • Dealing with unconscious casualties.

  • Administering cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

  • Dealing with a casualty who is choking.

  • Administering first aid to a casualty who is bleeding or suffering from shock.

  • Recognising minor injuries and illness and taking appropriate action, such as small cuts, minor burns and splinter
