Description

It’s All about the Coach: The Rights and Wrongs of Coaching and Mentoring

Speaker: Peter Hammond, PET&R

Presentation: 6.30pm– 7.30pm

Coaching is one of the top three development tools used in UK organisations today and its use is predicted to increase more than any other method in the next two years. This is almost as fast as the growth in coaches, coaching books and articles, blogs and posts on coaching.

Peter is a Member of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council, the British Psychological Society’s Special Interest Group in Coaching, and has an ILM Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring.

In this interactive event, Peter will:

  • Outline developments in the use of coaching and mentoring nationally - based on CIPD research;
  • Describe ongoing developments involving the Association for Coaching and European Mentoring and Coaching Council;
  • Illustrate how organisations and individuals have used coaching and mentoring to enable change, fulfil corporate social responsibility objectives and enhance leadership and / or personal development;
  • Consider specific approaches such as ten-minute coaching, team coaching, and conflict coaching;
  • Share thinking on how to ensure coaching success for the organisation, coach and individual coachee.
