Event description
Let's learn how to make animals, LOTS OF ANIMALS, using pencils, paint, glue and items from our recycling bin. Lions! Tigers! Bears! Oh my!

About this Event

There is now doubt about it. Children LOVE animals. Fluffy animals. Slithering animals. Animals that change colour and blend in to stuff.

In this session we will look at animals in famous artworks. Sometimes it will be like a hide-and-seek animal find and other times it will be just one animal painted in amazing colours. We will learn where these animals live and then will create our own animal based on what we have learned. We can go on an adventure in this art club. We can visit exciting lands and habitats.

This is a great opportunity to explore different art making techniques and to also gain confidence using new materials.

This lesson is great for children of all ages however I think this is super fun for children ages 5 to 10.

All lessons are taught through zoom. You will receive a link to join the class. I will email all attendees with a materials list at least a day before class so you can be ready to go for 11am.

I have been teaching art online since August as part of an online schooling initiative. Since lockdown I have been teaching several private groups a week. All lessons are secure. Only those that have signed up can enter the teaching space.

Lessons:

June 30 - Henri Rousseau - coloured pencils and felt pens

July 7 - Frida Kahlo and her many exotic pets - toilet roll, tape, A4 paper, felt pens, pencil

July 14 - John James Audubon and his realistic birds - Black A4 paper (or any dark colour paper on hand), oil pastels

July 21 - Yayoi Kusama (Animals and Dot Patterns) Pencil, felt pens
