It's My Conversation (Strand)

In an employee-owned approach to managing performance it is vital that everyone has a good understanding of how to make the 1-2-1s and Seasonal Conversations a success. Forum Theatre uses actors in a ‘theatre-based’ scenario to explore the behaviours needed for great conversations. It’s a highly interactive session, you will have the opportunity to ‘direct’ the actors through performance conversations, ultimately steering it from a bad discussion to an excellent one.

Core Objectives

The main focus of the Forum Theatre session is for you to

• receive a short overview of our new approach to performance management ‘The Personal Development Framework’

• understand what a successful Seasonal Conversation looks like from both the manager and the employee perspective

• recognise the skills and behaviours that will help you take ownership of your Seasonal Conversations

• understand the importance of meaningful, on-going, and regular conversations

• develop your listening skills and how to make the most of feedback

• explore using the Development Tracker and PACE questions to reflect on improving performance in the future
