Description

Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust Palliative Care Team in conjunction with The Yorkshire & Humber end of life care facilitators’ network are excited to announce ‘It's the little things you do that make the big things happen’ - a one day event focussed on Quality Improvement & Building on the Best.

The Building on the best programme launched in March 2016, funded by Macmillan Cancer Support working in partnership with Hospice UK (following the merger with The National Council for Palliative Care), the Scottish Partnership for Palliative Care, NHS Scotland, NHS England and NHS Improvement. Working with 13 NHS Acute Trusts and hospitals across England and Scotland, it has provided a framework to make measurable improvements in clinical practice for people in the last years of life, benefiting them and their families.

A key theme is that change and quality improvement are possible and achievable without significant additional spending. The aim of the day is to provide delegates with an introduction to quality improvement methodology(including models, tools and measurements),share learning from the BoTB project through case studies from LTHT and the other pilot sites enabling the development of strategies in order to bring about sustainable and measurable change.

Keynote speakers

Anita Hayes - Quality improvement associate at Hospice UK

Dr Anna Winfield - Patient safety and quality manager LTHT

Rachael Meal - Senior Organisational Learning Facilitator LTHT
