International Women’s Day (March 8) is a global day of celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.
Since its first gathering in 1911, International Women’s Day has grown to be a global day of recognizing and celebrating the contributions of women in all spheres of society and creating spaces for continued conversations about the collective political and socioeconomic advancement of all women.
While there has been much success to celebrate and be proud of, we know that racialized women, their contributions and the unique and compounded challenges they face based on gender and race continue to exclude them from the successes experienced by other women.
On Friday, March 6th, 2020, join us in song, spoken word, keynote address and more as we create and hold space for these women; recognizing and celebrating their contributions and along with the allies who support them, explore what it means to be My Sister’s Keeper.
Plated hot breakfast and beverages will be served.
