Description

To mark International Women's Day 2019, Catherine West MP will be hosting a meeting in Committee Room 8 **please note the change of room** at the House of Commons with the support of Hornsey & Wood Green Labour Women's Group.

Focussing on Women led households: the challenges of austerity and Universal Credit, the meeting will be chaired by Catherine West MP with speakers including:

  • Claire Woods, one of four single mothers who won a recent high court battle against the DWP supported by the Child Poverty Action Group.

  • Dr Rupa Huq MP, Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Single Parent Families.

  • Ema Howling, North West London friendship group for Gingerbread, the charity for single parent families.

  • Kellie Dorrington, Operations & Development Manager, Citizens Advice Haringey
