Join Friends International Belfast on a trip to the Giant's Causeway

All current international students in Belfast are very welcome!

We will travel together by private coach bus. Our trip will include a visit to the Giant's Causeway, Northern Ireland's most popular tourist site and iconic World Heritage Site. We will also visit the picturesque Dunluce Castle!

Plan for the Day

The plan is to meet outside the Mandela Hall at One Elmwood Ave (QUB Students Union) at 9:30 am to check-in and load the bus in order to leave at 9:45 am.

We will first travel to the Giant's Causeway. There you will have about three hours to explore, hike, eat lunch, get a coffee, sit and watch the sea.

  • You will need to bring a packed lunch (and water) but you can also buy refreshments from a hotel and restaurant/pub on site.
  • There is some steep walkways and the rocks can be slippery so wearing appropriate footwear is advised.

We will then stop at Dunluce Castle (for 30minutes) for a quick look and some photos. Before heading back to Belfast, we will stop at a local church for a wee portion of fish & chips, and some local refreshments.

We aim to be back to Belfast by 6:00 pm at the latest.

If you have any questions please email belfast@friendsinternational.uk.

About Giant's Causeway

One of Ireland’s most treasured landmarks, this is Northern Ireland's only UNESCO World Heritage site. Over 40,000 basalt columns, formed some 60 million years ago, are testament to a major stage in the earth's development. About Dunluce Castle

Dunluce is one of the most picturesque and romantic of Irish Castles. With evidence of settlement from the first millennium, the present castle ruins date mainly from the 16th and 17th centuries. It was inhabited by both the feuding McQuillan and MacDonnell clans. Historical and archaeological exhibits are on display for public viewing.
