This session explores two of Europe’s most significant recent automotive cyber incidents — Jaguar Land Rover (2025) and Hyundai Motor Europe (2024) — and what they reveal about modern board-level cyber governance.

We examine how both manufacturers became high-value targets, yet experienced very different impacts:

• JLR faced an operational shutdown, halting production and disrupting supply chains.
• Hyundai Motor Europe suffered large-scale data exfiltration, exposing sensitive corporate information across multiple business functions.

Together, these cases show the full spectrum of cyber risk in manufacturing:
disruption risk (stopping operations) and data-exposure risk (IP, legal, HR, financial information).

We will discuss:
