Jahiem's Justice Centre: The Launch
Event Information
About this Event
The 4Front Project is a member-led youth organisation empowering young people and communities to fight for justice, peace and freedom. We support members with experiences of violence and the criminal justice system to create change; in their own lives, communities and society.
For years, 4Front has been working to open a space in our community to expand the holistic, creative and transformative support we offer young people. Now, these years of work will pay off: we are launching Jahiem's Justice Centre.
This new centre is part of our commitment to building the legacy of Jahiem, a beloved member of 4FRONT who lost his life last year. On 22nd October 2020, on what would have been Jahiem's 19th birthday, we will launch this powerful space which is the embodiment of his character, values and dreams. At a time where all resources have been stripped from Grahame Park Estate as a result of gentrification, we have reclaimed the old Chemist and transformed it into a powerful space for creativity, empowerment and healing - in the heart of our community. In honour of the struggles Jahiem faced, the centre will address some of the most urgent needs in our community with transformative justice, healing and holistic support.
Jahiem's Justice Centre is the first of its kind in the UK, moving beyond standard youth provision to offer a range of tailored and accessible therapeutic support services, a specialist legal clinic, and an enhanced creative offering, including access to a state of the art music studio, creative skills qualification programmes , and an expansion of our work empowering young people to achieve systemic and community change. Jahiem’s Justice Centre will be a beacon of hope and the home of reimagining justice, peace, safety and freedom for the next generation.
