Event description

Description

K2, the second highest mountain in the world, has a fearsome and infamous reputation amongst climbers. After climbing Everest when he was 21, Jake set his sights on a mountain which represented much more than simply being 'the highest'. Over a decade of his life, Jake mounted three expeditions to 'The Savage Mountain' - and finally reached the summit on the 21st July 2018, fulfilling a long held ambition. Jake's inspirational story is one of perseverance, tenacity and bouncing back from failure time and time again, despite the time, effort, cost and sacrifices made along the way.

Doors open at 1800 (bar available in the Map Room)

Talk will start promptly at 1900 and will be followed by Q&A

The bar will remain open after the talk

A proportion of ticket sales will be donated to Walking With The Wounded

Please note that whilst children are welcome (and would be very much encouraged), there may be some adult themes discussed during the presentation. Jake promises not to swear (too much!).
