About this event
An AI-themed, hackathon-style event called Jam with PartyRock where students and staff come together around a set of established themes to build out a working AI demo. The event is being planned in collaboration with Experimentation and Innovation ( Exeter Innovation, Digital ), Student Employability and Academic Success , and the Study Skills Team from the Library. During the Event Participants work in groups with mentor support to use either PartyRock (no-code AI prototyping tool) or Bedrock (developer tools) to create an idea, prototype, or working demo of a solution to real-world challenges with relevance to Strategy 2030, industry, and social good.
Aims
- Build AI Solutions: Enable staff and students to create basic, working AI demos that connect to real-world use cases.
- Engage with AI at Exeter: Use the launch of the University’s AI Strategy and Policy to empower the Exeter community.
- Future Skills & Employability: Explore how AI is shaping future careers and the skills needed to thrive.
- Global Impact: Align projects with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the University’s Strategy 2030.
- Industry Collaboration: Work with partners to tackle real-world challenges using labour market insights and careers data.
