Jane was one of our greatest writers, transforming the novel as we know it. Celebrated for her sharp wit, vivid depictions of family life and criticism of economic policy, hear about the literary powerhouse who lived and wrote locally.

Established in 1940, the Jane Austen Society’s main aim is to foster the appreciation and study of the work, life and times of Jane Austen, and the Austen family.

  • Booking is essential, so be quick to avoid disappointment
