0950 to 1005 - Be inspired by Lisa Long, Owner and Creative Director of More Than Words, the UK's leading typographic art boutique and award-winning global brand. Lisa will be sharing her amazing journey and story with us - see below.
1005 to 1020 - 'Setting your strategy, creating a plan versus making it up as you go along - lessons from successful businesses for 2016 and beyond' - an inspiring talk by Cindy Barnes of Futurecurve - see below.
1020 to 1050 - Q & A with Cindy and Lisa.
1050 to 1100 - Future Events including a short overview from Sophie Comas from Rimu Marketing on the upcoming workshop on 28th January on Email Marketing.
1100 to 1130 - Networking
1130 - Close
1130 onwards - Ladies are welcome to stay on at the venue beyond 1130 to network further!
About Cindy and Futurecurve
Cindy will be talking about what she is seeing in the business world from businesses of all shapes and sizes, UK and around the world, about how they set their strategies and approach their planning. This will be a highly interactive talk and attendees can talk about what would be a good approach for their business. Not to be missed!
Cindy is the Founder and Chief Sales & Marketing Officer for Futurecurve, a specialist consultancy working with companies of all sizes to grow their businesses based on genuine customer value.
Cindy has had an eclectic career before setting up her business including running sales & marketing for Capgemini, running large-scale unionised factories for Smiths Group. She led R&D for Panavision where she developed a leading-edge technical product range which is still their most profitable range to date.
Cindy divides her time between Futurecurve and working as a counsellor specialising in Highly Sensitive People. She holds an MBA and has qualifications in engineering, physics, operations management and psychology. She is co-author of the best-selling business book ‘Creating and Delivering your Value Proposition’.

More Than Words was launched in 2010. Lisa’s lifetime love of interiors, graphic design and typography, combined with a search to find a piece of original artwork for her own home, led her to follow her creative passion.

ABOUT SOPHIE AND RIMU MARKETING
Sophie has presented several workshops for The Business Girls Network and is a highly professional and experienced presenter. Sophie is a freelance Marketing Consultant with significant Marketing experience within blue chip leisure, hotels and tour operator companies. Since setting up Rimu Marketing she has really enjoyed meeting lots of fantastic people and working with a number of small/ medium size businesses from a broad range of backgrounds including: a Local Car Garage, Boutique Hotel, Wedding Car Hire Company, Interior Designers, Photographers, a Children’s Nursery and Travel Agent.
Whilst she has a broad marketing background in her last corporate role, she also specialised within Partnership Marketing which was focused on achieving jointly agreed objectives for all business involved within the partnership, email marketing planed an important part of this. Sophie works with small/ medium size businesses to help them with their marketing, looking at everything from their marketing strategy, email marketing through to helping them with their website. Sophie has over 15yrs corporate marketing experience; has worked with a diverse cross section of small/ medium size businesses.
On a personal note, Sophie has a passion for all sports including horse riding, running, tennis and netball. She loves creative design, travelling and working with Children.
Sophie is a current Chartered Marketeer member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (MCIM) with a postgraduate diploma; she also is a volunteer as an Events Co-ordinate for the CIM Thames Valley Branch.
