Reasonably confident poet, but want to experiment more with form and metre...? This course will be 12 weeks and will take a playful journey through some of the most interesting forms in English poetry... Topics include: the modern sonnet, tanka and haiku, the ghazal, sestina, villanelle, terza rima, visual and concrete poetry, epistolatory poems, iambic pentameter and rhyme royal... Each week you receive a tutorial via email, illustrated with video and audio clips. There are a number of quick tasks to complete and then a main writing task, which can be sent to Live Canon for written feedback. There is an online discussion forum for the group to share work and discuss tasks.
