January Disability Bikes at Free Wheel North - We open at 10am
Event Information
About this Event
As the lockdown eases we are looking for a way to get open and help people with disabilities to get cycling again. We have implemented a booking system which will allow you to book a particular bike at a certain time. We don't want everyone showing up at once so please do book to avoid disappointment. There are a range of bikes available, please select the appropriate time slot for the bike of your choice. Choose one from the list. The booking allows for 2 people onto the track every 15minutes so we can keep a maximum of 8 people on the track at one time. It could be one individual and one support worker, one parent and one child, or 2 children. If you have more than 2 people or children to go on, please book the next time slot. Over the winter months if you do not want the full 45minute time slot, then you can do v30minutes or 15minutes.
We understand that many people will be shielding, but for those who are looking to get back to cycling, please help to keep a safe environment, follow the guidelines and work with us. Please follow social distancing guidelines and keep 2metres from people. Practice good hand hygiene and good coughing technique.
Read the information. Make your booking. Then on the day please come down in time for your chosen time slot. Please come to the gate 10minutes before so we can help you onto your bike at your chosen time. You will have 45minutes to use the bike on the track. After each use, bikes will be sprayed with antibacterial spray. Please bring your own gloves as we cannot provide these. We will have hand sanitiser available to use.
We encourage users to make a donation so that we can stay open and don't have to close our gates again. We are only able to have limited people on the track and so cannot generate income from public use. The track will use a dedicated booking system, people will not be able to drop in. This will prevent groups of people forming and hopefully avoid contamination between groups. Please still bring a donation to put into the box, it is £1 per 15minutes and so we suggest £3-£5 per person. Please bring the exact change to put into the box to reduce cash handling.
Contact information will be gathered through Eventbrite and will be used for contact tracing if an infection occurs at our site.
If you cannot attend please contact us to let us know. If you do not show up for your booking you will not be able to book in again the following week.
Free Wheel North may send an email for feedback about your visit.
