JanuDry- Can you go Dry for January in Support of St Clare Hospice
Pack in the drinking and get on the Fundraising!
So…New Year, New You. 2017 is YOUR year! And it is YOUR chance to give something back to St Clare, whilst getting yourself fit and healthy.
After a festive over-indulgence which lasted for the whole month of December (“oh, go on, one more mince pie won’t hurt” – sound familiar?), how about giving your body a rest, and your local hospice a helping hand, by having a whole month without alcohol?
JanuDry is about abstaining from social drinking (and socialising sober – because your friends are funny even without alcohol) for the whole 31 days of January. Then simply donate the money you have saved in not drinking alcohol, to St Clare. Easy!
If your family and friends can’t believe you could achieve such a thing, how about asking them to sponsor you to make it happen? You know you love proving your Dad wrong! You can set up your Fundraising Page online by following these easy steps.
The financial benefits
If you normally drink…
• 10 pints a week – you could save £160 for St Clare in 1 month
• 7 large glasses of wine a week – you could save £140 for St Clare in 1 month
• 4 large glasses of wine and 10 shots and mixers a week – you could save £280 for St Clare in 1 month
Not only this, but you could be saving your body from up to 10,000 calories in January!
Remember, this will make a huge difference to St Clare being able to provide vital care to a family going through one of life’s most difficult journeys.
St Clare JanuDry is a fundraising campaign aimed at challenging social drinkers to change their habits for a month and make some healthy lifestyle changes. We would encourage people to drink responsibly and stick to the recommended daily guidelines for the rest of the year. We advise heavy drinkers or people dependent on alcohol to speak with their GP before signing up to St Clare JanuDry.
