This week's menu:
Mains: Chirashizushi- Scattered Sushi with colourful vegetables and pickles (seaweed, soy).
Pan-fried gyoza dumplings with mixed veg, mushrooms, soybeans and ginger (soy, sesame).
Sides: Juicy seitan (soya, gluten)
Sesame-garlic wakame stir fry(soya, gluten, seaweed, sesame)
Nigiri-style red pepper (soya, gluten, sesame)
Freeze-dried tofu Koyadofu (soya, gluten, seaweed)
Garlic-chilli shiitake mushroom pickles (soya, gluten)
Sweet potato, edamame (soy), corn, spring onion.
Extras: Arare - homemade festive rice crackers
Desserts: Hanami Dango- traditional pink, white and green rice balls
Bakewell almond cake with glace cherries (almond, gluten, soya, sulphur dioxide)
This week's celebration is "Hina Matsuri" - 3 March is the Doll's Festival to celebrate young daughters. Expect to see many foods that are pink for health, white for long life, green for fertility, and yellow for Spring. Chirashizushi, Hanami Dango, and Arare are three dishes you will see everywhere!
