Join us for our final gardening session of 2025 as we prepare this historic Japanese garden for autumn!

Help us close out another wonderful year of caring for the UK's oldest public Japanese garden. Whether you're saying goodbye to summer or hello to a new volunteering experience, there's a perfect task waiting for you.

Tools provided - just bring your seasonal spirit and maybe a warm jumper!

Where do we meet?

We normally meet by the concrete bench overlooking the pond in the main section of the Garden, near the kids' stone garden.

Can I buy food or a drink on site?

There are no food outlets in the Garden or Hammersmith Park. However, there's plenty of good choices in close proximity, either on Uxbridge Road or at the BBC Centre / Westfield.

How do I need to dress?

You'll be doing hands-on gardening activities, so dress appropriately. Sturdy shoes and long trousers are a good idea. Also keep an eye on the weater forecast for the day and adjust accordingly!

Do I need to bring anything on the day?

Tools, gloves and high-vis vests will be provided. Don't forget to bring some water and a spot of lunch!
