Following the success of our Japanese classes in 2016, we're delighted to offer both beginners and intermediate classes in 2017, with the best teachers in Edinburgh. Classes are offered in blocks of ten weeks for flexibility and affordability and are offered on a rolling basis for new and continuing students. Classes are designed to be small for the greatest interaction between the student and the instructor.
Beginners 2.1 is a post-beginners course designed for students who have completed our Beginners programme 1.1–1.3, and suitable for those who have reached JLPT N5 proficiency. Learners will be introduced to talking about daily activities, describing ongoing actions and past experiences, inviting people to one’s home, and describing concrete objects with increased vocabulary in food, drink, likes and dislikes. Learners will be able to read and write basic Kanji, and continue to develop their understanding of Hiragana and Katakana scripts.
Born in Japan, Mrs Davidson is a native Japanese speaker. She is a very well experienced and qualified Japanese instructor, who is widely recommended and in high demand in the Edinburgh area. She has been an interpreter for a governmental department and a large multinational company, freelance translator and translator of books and a Japanese-English dictionary, and has been conducting language classes both in group format and private one-to-one sessions for many years.
