About this event

During this workshop you will learn about the Japanese embroidery techniques Sashiko and Boro. In Japan, these techniques have been used for centuries to repair and mend textile items for the home and clothing to give these items a new life. You will create a stitched sample inspired by Sashiko or Boro, learning about the traditional patterns used.

Your sample may then be made into a coaster, key fob, brooch or decorative patch which can be used to repair an item at home or clothing.

This workshop is taking place as part of Camden Inspire: Green Loop Takeover - a climate festival of ideas, workshops, repair sessions, talks and exhibitions that challenge our throwaway culture and explore hopeful, practical ways to live more sustainably. See the full programme on our website!
