"What have we not been given? What have we not been shown?"
— 'Lion Song' by Jason Harrod
“What singer-songwriter Jason Harrod does best is turn daily moments numinous. Quite simply, Harrod’s imagination is for this world; he finds deep secrets in ordinary places.” — Image Journal
Jason Harrod is an American Brooklyn-based performing songwriter known for generous melodies and poetic, image-rich lyrics. He has been songwriting, recording, and performing for over 20 years, over which time he has built a loyal grassroots following. Jason sings of yearning to be set free (like the flying train on the cover of his last studio release) and to be known, both by a warm human heart and by God almighty.
Jason has lived in Boston, Durham, and most recently New York, where he is the music director for a small church that meets in a black box theater on Manhattan's Lower East Side. Frequently on tour in the U.S., this fall his U.K./European tour brings him through to Edinburgh, to Saltyard, for one intimate and captivating evening of music on 28 September.
Cafe service will run from 7:00-7:30pm before concert commences at 7:30pm. There is no cover for this event; entry is free, though CDs will be available, as will be the opportunity to give a freewill donation in appreciation for Jason's work and touring costs.
