IT Professional Training is offering free (fully funded by SAAS) Java SE 8 Programmer Course (Oracle Certified Professional) @ Edinburgh. Students have the option of attending this tutor-led course in the classroom in Edinburgh or via our virtual learning classroom from home.

The OCP Java SE 8 Programmer II Course is designed to prepare students thoroughly for the Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) Java SE 8 Programmer II Exam (1Z0‑809). This advanced program builds upon foundational Java knowledge, providing comprehensive coverage of all exam objectives. Key topics include advanced functional programming, in-depth object-oriented programming principles, and the practical application of Java in database-driven environments.
Through a combination of theoretical instruction and hands-on exercises, students gain mastery of Java technologies and learn to implement industry-standard best practices in software development. By completing this course, students will demonstrate proficiency in Java programming and acquire a globally recognized credential that validates their technical expertise and enhances their career prospects in the field of software engineering.
SQA Framework and Oracle Exams:
This comprehensive course is meticulously aligned with the SQA PDA in Software Development at SCQF Level 8 and the globally recognized Oracle Java SE 8 Programmer II certification (Exam 1Z0‑809). By completing this program, students will gain industry-endorsed skills in Java programming, enhancing their professional credibility and positioning them for advanced roles in software development. Please note that while the SQA examination fees are fully covered under available funding for eligible candidates, students are responsible for the Oracle vendor examination fee. This arrangement allows students to directly invest in obtaining a prestigious, globally recognised certification, further augmenting the value and impact of their professional qualifications.
Prerequisite:
- Successful completion of Java SE 8 Programmer I (Level 1) or attended the course previously or equivalent experience
- Solid understanding of Java fundamentals: object-oriented programming, classes, objects, inheritance, polymorphism, syntax, operators, control flow, arrays, methods, and exception handling.
- Practical experience in developing and debugging Java applications using standard APIs (e.g., String, ArrayList).
- Familiarity with Oracle Java SE 8 Programmer I (1Z0‑808) exam objectives is recommended.

Modes of Learning:
You have the option of undertaking this course via following learning modes:
1.) Face to Face Classroom based Learning: You will attend the class each week on the day and time mentioned above.
2.) Virtual Learning: Live traditional face to face class will broadcast to all virtual learners each week on a specified time.
3.) Blended Learning: Mixture of Face to face and Virtual learning (must inform when joining the course).

This course is funded by SAAS part time fee agency which is available to eligible individuals only:
SAAS General funding eligibility requirement:
1. You have to be a resident of Scotland
2. Either employed and earning less than 25k a year or can be unemployed as well
3. Have not used the SAAS funding in this Academic Year.
