Banjoist, composer and instigator Jayme Stone reimagines old songs, remaking them for modern ears. His repertoire includes Sea Island spirituals, Creole calypsos, Appalachian ballads, and work songs collected from both well-known musicians and everyday folk: sea captains, cowhands, fisherman, prisoners, and homemakers. Stone has collaborated with Tim O’Brien, Margaret Glaspy, Moira Smiley, Bruce Molsky, Julian Lage, and many others.
