Erik Palmberg Quartet has gained widespread international attention and acclaim as one of the most interesting and inventive Scandinavian jazz acts today.

About Erik Palmberg
Based in Stockholm, Sweden, educated at the Royal College of Music and Jazz-Institut-Berlin, Erik Palmberg has been playing regularly with his group since the release of their first album, First Lines in 2018.
With the release of his second album, In Between, 2021, Erik gained wider recognition both in Sweden but also internationally. In 2022, ”In Between” also won the readers poll for the prestigious Gyllene Skivan award.
His sound has been described as deeply rooted in the jazz tradition but with a modern, nordic touch. The music has been described as poetic, emotional, and played with deep seated lyricism.
Allaboutjazz 2022: While Palmberg draws from a variety of trumpeters, from Freddie Hubbard and Miles Davis to Tom Harrell and Kenny Wheeler, his own signature sound has now emerged. It is one of crisp articulation on a wide array of note selections, and an innate sense of taking the music in the direction it wants to go.
Erik and his group did extensive touring in Sweden 2022-2023. The group played at all the top venues in Sweden and was also featured at The Stockholms Kulturfestival. He also toured in Germany in 2022, playing his music with german musicians.
Erik is also a sought-after sideman. In 2020, Erik was featured on the Stockholm Corona Sessions Vol 1, Vol 2 and Vol 3, led by Jazzagenturen, featuring some of the top names in Swedish jazz.
He is a member of the jazz group Horncraft, which released the critically acclaimed album, ”Inside Looking Out” in 2023, and he is also a new member of the hard bop group Lexingtone and plays with various groups and constellations such as the newly formed Swedish Radio Jazz Group (led by Nils Landgren) Blue House Jazz Orchestra and others.
