About this event
I’m Jayzeana, the founder of JB Dance Collective. I’m 19 and, I’ve learned that my way of thinking and learning is different. I’m twice-exceptional (2e) — profoundly gifted — which means I have high cognitive abilities that allow me to grasp systems, patterns, and connections quickly. I also have ADHD, which gives me an extra layer of processing ability that fuels my creativity and deepens my understanding of complex ideas.
I’ve always approached learning in a way that doesn’t fit traditional systems. While most people are taught to memorize facts, I’ve developed tailored study tools that allow me to learn through real-life applications and systems thinking. For example, in sports and exercise science and neuroscience, I don’t just memorize concepts — I focus on understanding how they interconnect and apply them to real-world movement and performance. I have plans to study Sports and Exercise Science BSc (Hons) this year, alongside neuroscience modules, from a holistic standpoint — bringing all of it together with how I think and create.
Growing up, I never quite fit into traditional academic settings or dance environments, which often focused on step-by-step learning. I’ve always connected with dance in a more intuitive and emotionally-driven way. This holistic approach has shaped how I understand movement, and I’m excited to bring this unique perspective to my workshops. My goal is to teach you how to connect with music, move intentionally, and develop your own style.
I want my story to inspire other Black girls and young women of color who might not see themselves in these spaces. My journey shows that it’s not about where you come from, but the mindset and drive you bring with you. The future is full of limitless potential, and Black women like me have every right to lead and redefine industries.
The combination of being twice-exceptional (2e) and profoundly gifted is already rare, but for Black girls like me, it’s even more underrepresented in fields such as dance, sports, and science. This kind of giftedness is not something most people associate with Black women, but I’m here to challenge that narrative. I’m proud to represent this next wave of change, where Black women are not only seen in these spaces, but are leading them.
I hope my workshops will inspire others to embrace their individuality, recognize the power they hold within, and push past any limitations others have placed on them. There’s room for us all, and our potential is limitless. We are more than capable of leading, creating, and redefining the world.

Wear comfortable, breathable clothing that lets you move freely — think joggers, streetwear, or anything you feel confident in. Trainers are recommended to support movement, but wear what makes you feel good and free to express yourself.

One artist who’s resonated with me for years is Mark Lee — not just for his talent, but for his honesty, depth, and how he expresses himself through music and movement. His authenticity and humility reflect the same energy I bring into these workshops.

I’ll focus on my studies, but my schedule differs because I work holistically, not step by step like most students. I run evening workshops to avoid overstimulation. I’ll step into performance or modeling as they come, balancing athletics, dance, and academics while staying aligned.
I manage differently by staying engaged and regulating focus—going to the gym consistently helps my processing. I take supplements like zinc and B12, and plan to add magnesium. I also take time for myself, enjoy my own company, and listen to music to stay balanced.
I skip ahead to advanced topics in neuroscience and exercise science because I get disengaged by surface facts. I learn holistically—connecting areas like clinical neuroscience and more—reflecting how I think. I get disengaged fast, so I create challenging, postgrad-level study sets to stay engaged.
I use Gizmo AI to tailor holistic, active recall study sets and apps like Prognosis for real-life conditions like GDM, diabetes, Cushing’s disease, etc., connecting to exercise science. I apply the same systems thinking in neuroscience, exploring the whole field including Alzheimer’s.
