Event description

Description

Create your own mini kite made out of willow and rice paper, inspired by artist Jacob Hashimoto’s kite pieces.

Join us on the third Saturday of each month in our artist studios and workshop space within Broad Street Mall for our Jelly Family Art Club with Reading artist and arts educator Julie Calce as we celebrate the art of recycling and collaborative art making. If your child attends more than 6 sessions, these do not need to be consecutive, they will be able to earn a Discover Arts Award for an additional £5. Please chat to Julie if this is something you are interested in.

This workshop is suitable for tots to teens. Providing the age of your child at the time of booking will help Julie to tailor your session according to their age.

Every third Saturday you and your child will be encouraged to explore imaginary worlds and characters through a range of changing art themes

Julie is a mixed media artists and specialises in working with paper, paper mache and textiles. She loves drawing and is influenced by illustration and nature. Julie is an experienced arts educator and has a fun and playful approach to allow creativity to flourish.

Please note that this session may be messy. Please bring your own apron and baby wipes. We do not have a toilet within our unit. Public toilets are located a short walk away. We will provide water for hand washing.
