Event description

Description

Africa is changing as collisions between megatrends reshape the economic and commercial landscape of the continent. With the fastest growing middle-class population in the world, consumer spending power across the continent is increasing at a remarkable rate.

We do need to be realistic though; there are potholes on the road to success for the continent. It is no secret that Africa faces many challenges; three of which being trust, transparency and infrastructure. Doing business in Africa comes with its own set of unique characteristics and Jersey is well positioned to navigate any risks or challenges that may arise.

Dr. Andrew S. Nevin, Partner and Chief Economist at PwC, Nigeria, will deliver a presentation, 'Nigeria and Africa: Economic Update', which will provide a comprehensive overview of the current and future state of African economic development.

A panel session, entitled 'Regulation, Reputation and The Road Ahead', will also highlight Jersey’s evolving relationship with Africa and create some discussion around the apparent risk factors associated with African business.

This event is essential for all members of the industry who are exposed to the African market, as well as those considering an expansion into new territories.
