This course is aimed at members who hold Manager and Supporter roles in Scouting.
The aim is to provide managers with the skills and tools to manage and support volunteers in Scouting.

Skills of Management Course in Jersey
Based at the Scout Centre, including residential accommodation
Course times:
Saturday 9.30 - 5pm followed by dinner at 7pm at local restaurant
Sunday 9.30 – to finish after lunch, definitely no later than 4pm

We will be running a ‘Skills of Management’ Course jointly with Guernsey Scouts on Saturday and Sunday 20 & 21 October 2018 at the Jersey Scout Centre, including accommodation at the Centre. The course is also open across our region. The course will last two full days, ending no later than 4pm on the Sunday to allow for travel home.
For those travelling to Jersey for the course, there is the option to stay at the Scout Centre on Friday evening, ready for a Saturday morning start. For Jersey participants, there is an option to stay overnight at the Scout Centre on the Saturday evening.
This course is primarily for adults holding Manager (IC, GSL, etc.) or Supporter (Youth Commissioner, AIC, Island Leader, etc.) roles in Scouting and forms part of the learning offered to gain a Wood Badge for one of these roles. However, this course is open to anyone wanting to develop their volunteer management skills.

How you Lead, Communication and Active Listening, How we work together, Motivating your Team, Mentoring, Coaching and Supporting, and Building Relationships.
