About this event
- Event lasts 2 hours 15 minutes
Join us at the Atkinson Gallery for an exhilarating showcase of Deformed Surfaces, Uncovering Somerset Landscapes . This solo photography exhibition by Jesse Alexander invites viewers to explore the local area in unexpected and thought-provoking ways.
7:15 - 8:30 PM - In Conversation in the Johnson Hall
As part of the exhibition launch, The Atkinson Gallery are pleased to host an In Conversation event with Jesse Alexander and Dr Tom Baugh in the Johnson Hall, offering a deeper insight into the ideas, processes, and critical perspectives behind the work.
"We tend to think about landscape pictures as ‘layered’ in a horizontal sense, with a foreground, middle- and background. I’m interested in landscape in a ‘vertical’ sense – how the land is manipulated and exploited, as well evolves naturally over time. And of course; the events that take place, and are forgotten, on patch of earth"
- Jesse Alexander
8:30 - 9:30 PM - Private View in the Atkinson Gallery
Afterwards, enjoy a private view of the exhibition in the gallery. Complimentary drinks and snacks will be provided.
These events can be attended separately.
