Event description

Description

Please sign up using your CRSId as only Jesus College students will be admitted to the session.

Jesus College provides a programme across the year to help Jesus College students to improve their academic skills. The idea is to help make the transition from secondary education to university studies go as smoothly as possible and to encourage all students to fulfill their potential here. While designed for undergraduate freshers, those in other years may also benefit from the programme, and are most welcome to attend any of the sessions if there is space available.

We have arranged a series of practical sessions, mainly running in Michaelmas Term. Attendance at these sessions is strongly recommended, but the places are limited. These sessions aim to improve and hone all aspects of your work here at Cambridge, which will prove invaluable later on.

This session considers different approaches to note-taking and considers how technology may help you during your time in Cambridge to manage information content. It is run by Dr Sarah Steele and Tyler Shores, an education and technology specialist who has taught previously at the University of California Berkeley and worked at Google. He currently works on digital distraction and aims to provide students with various tips and tricks to improve their academic skills using both older, well-tested offline methods along with advice on apps and programmes that might be of use.
