Jewellery Workshop - An Introduction to Silver Clay

Price includes 7g of Silver Clay and use of all tools and equipment.

No previous experience required

Learn how to make your own beautiful jewellery using Art Clay Silver. With just a few simple techniques you can turn Art Clay Silver from a squishy blob of clay into solid silver jewellery that could be hallmarked. Even better – the skills you learn on this course will enable you to continue creating after you leave.

What is included:

  • 7g of Silver Clay
  • Jump rings and earwires to attach to your pieces
  • Expert guidance from a tutor with over 15 years experience
  • Plenty of tea, coffee, cold drinks and biscuits
  • A Faye Benjamin gift bag to store your precious creations
  • Class notes
  • Exclusive student discount voucher
  • A branded goodie bag to take home

What you will learn:

  • Design ideas and considerations
  • Introduction to tools and equipment
  • How to roll, cut and texture clay
  • Drying, sanding and refining
  • Firing
  • Polishing and finishing
  • How to attach jump rings and earwires

Taught from a private location in the village of Itchen Abbas, just a few miles from Winchester, we will work at a relaxed pace in a small group of no more than 8. There will be plenty of time to explore the material, get tips and advice on Silver Clay and create your own gorgeous pieces!

There will be enough Silver Clay for you to make at least one pendant plus a charm or pair of drop earrings, depending on the size and design of your pieces. Please feel free to bring your own chain or bracelets if you want to use them. Alternatively, there will be a selection of chains for you to buy.

Please arrive 9.30-9.45 for a 10am start. We finish at 4pm.

Once your place is confirmed, I will email further details about the day - including location.

Covid Considerations

Government guidelines will be adhered to and details will be sent with your joining instructions. If the workshop is cancelled, or you are unable to attend due to Covid, you will be able to transfer your booking or receive a full refund.

FAQs

What should I bring to the event?

  • A notebook and pen if you wish to take additional notes.
  • An apron (although not essential).
  • Please bring your own lunch and let me know in advance if you have any allergies.
  • A word of warning - fluffy clothing is NOT advisable - clay loves fluff!

What if I'm not very 'arty'?

Don't worry, silver clay always works its magic! And I'll be here to guide you with tips, demos and sample pieces every step of the way...

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

If you are driving there is off-street parking. If you are arriving by train or bus, there are good bus links from both Winchester train and bus stations. Details will be send with your joining instructions.

How can I contact the organiser with any questions?

Further details can be found on my website at fayebenjamin.co.uk. If you still have questions, please feel free to email me at jo@fayebenjamin.co.uk or call on 07867 787717.

Is my registration fee or ticket transferable?

You may transfer a ticket to another person for the date you have booked, but please let me know their details in advance.

If you can no longer attend on the date you have booked, you may change to a class on another date, but this is subject to availability and a minimum notice period of 30 days*, as per the cancellation policy.

If you are booked on a course and you do not turn up on the day, no refund will be given. I would appreciate if you could please call and let me know if you can't attend or are going to be late on the day - out of respect for your fellow students, and so that we know you are safe.

*If you are required to isolate due to Covid, a full refund or transfer can be arranged up until the day before the workshop starts. You may be required to produce evidence of track and trace.
