A community screening of the Palme d'Or winning film I, Daniel Blake with a Q & A session with scriptwriter Paul Laverty in the theatre of James Gillespie's High School.

The film is certificate 15.
What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?
There is parking within the school grounds off Warrender Park Road and Whitehouse Loan as well as on street parking around the school. There are plenty of cycle racks. The school is a short walk from Bruntsfield Place (LRT buses 11, X15, 16, 23, 45) and Marchmont Road (LRT buses 24, 41).
What can I bring into the event?
Entry is free, but the event is ticketed.
We are putting on this screening as part of James Gillespie's High School's campaign to raise awareness of, and reduce the stigma and restriction of opportunity for those experiencing poverty in our school and local community. With this in mind we are offering the opportunity to make donations at the end of the event should you so wish.
We will be collecting for the local foodbank (please see items below) and the School Equity Fund (a fund managed by the Pupil Support Team offering discretionary financial aid to those pupils who are experiencing financial difficulty e.g. for equipment, food, clothing etc.). There will also be a collection of any sanitary products, including tampons, sanitary pads and baby wipes by a representative from "The Monthlies", an Edinburgh volunteer organisation who collect all sanitary products and distribute them to Streetwork (an Edinburgh homeless charity) and The Trussel Trust (the foodbank charity).
