Event description

Description

This morning we visit Jinney Ring Craft Centre opened in 1980 and the beautiful 200-year-old barns have been converted into 12 craft studio workshops which cover a range of crafts. The main gift shop which is quirky in design with many hidden nooks and crannies, stocks many unusual gifts and treats. The Gift Shop also houses a fine selection of artwork from metal forgings through to pottery. The farmhouse restaurant food is made at the Centre and is freshly cooked each day.

After lunch we travel to Hanbury Hall which is a beautiful William and Mary-style house built in 1701 by Thomas Vernon, a lawyer and MP for Worcester. Inside a mix of interiors, from the restored Hercules rooms and recreated Gothic corridor, to the Smoking Room and magnificent recently restored staircase wall paintings by Sir James Thornhill. Surrounding the house are 20 acres of recreated early 18th-century gardens and 400 acres of park. Features include the intricately laid out parterre, fruit garden, grove, orangery, orchard and bowling green.
