Inspired by the ongoing J.M.W. Turner exhibition, each session draws from his masterful use of light, atmosphere, and colour. We’ll begin with guided exercises using a beginner-friendly palette and professional-grade watercolours, focusing on mixing techniques and the basics of colour theory. Expect to build confidence in your brushwork while exploring a variety of mark-making techniques.
Weather permitting, we’ll head into the beautiful surroundings of Whitworth Park for observational drawing and plein air painting, before returning for an informal group review and discussion to support your development in a friendly, creative setting.
