Jo Cox Memorial Lecture 2019
Event Information
About this Event
The Department of Sociology and Murray Edwards College jointly present this annual memorial lecture to honour the memory of Jo Cox MP.
Jo Cox MP was a former student of Social and Political Sciences at Cambridge and committed politican, wife and mother. In June 2016, Jo was murdered by a far-right activist whilst working in her constituency, Batley and Spen.
Jo dedicated her life to helping others, campaigning tirelessly for a fairer, kinder and more tolerant world. To celebrate Jo's life and the inspiring work she was involved with, please join us for the third annual lecture in our memorial series.
The lecture will be delivered by the former Speaker of the House of Commons, Rt Hon John Bercow MP, and will close with tea and biscuits.
We would like to request all interested in this event to make a donation to support the work of the Jo Cox foundation.
