About the Artist
John Booth was born in Scotland in 1984 and raised in Cumbria. He moved to London in 2004, where he graduated with a BA in fashion print design at Central Saint Martins in. He has since taught as a lecturer both at Central Saint Martins as well as at the University of Westminster. Booth has worked for several fashion brands including Zandra Rhodes, John Galliano, Ashish, Christopher Shannon and most recently, Globetrotter, Fendi and Paul Smith.
About the Workshop
Step into creativity with our hands-on leather crafting workshop where you'll personalise your Birkenstock sandals/shoes using vibrant, die-cut leather shapes. Learn the rivet attachment technique to securely and stylishly customise your sandals with a mix of colours, textures, and patterns. No experience needed—just bring your imagination and walk away with a one-of-a-kind wearable artwork!
Workshop participants are encouraged to either bring a pair of existing Birkenstocks to customise, or they will be able to purchase a pair at the event. Additionally, all ticket holders will have the option to redeem the cost of their ticket against any in-store purchases.
Technique: Simple rivet attachment on leather or any materials of the shoes. The artist will be showing some demonstration during the workshop.

Tickets are priced at £8 each where proceeds will go directly towards supporting the Crafts Council's ongoing work nurturing and empowering the makers of today.
