Event description
John Clegg and Jess McKinney launch their new Hazel Press poetry collections with reading and conversation.

About this event

Jess McKinney and John Clegg will be in conversation with Martina Evans, and reading from their new pamphlets Weeding and Pinecoast (both published by Hazel Press).

Jess McKinney has been nominated for the 2021 Patrick Kavanagh Award. Kerri ní Dochartaigh has described Weeding, McKinney’s debut pamphlet, as ‘a love letter to the colour green; an inventory of all that is beautiful in this world; an unfurling and unearthing; a gathering of light in all its forms.’

John Clegg’s most recent full collection is Holy Toledo!, nominated for the Ledbury Forte Prize in 2017. Marius Kociejowski writes that ‘whatever horse (Clegg) rides, he makes it a go, his lasso a modus operandi for capturing images.’

The event will be chaired by Martina Evans, whose most recent collection is American Mules (Carcanet 2021).
