Join us on a walking tour of Preston city centre as part of the Preston Remembers programme of WW1 tours.
This tour will focus on the fascinating life of John Gregson. John was orphaned at an early age and went on to join the army before the war. One of the first to be called up when the war started, he was killed in the trenches in June 1915, leaving behind a wife and three children.
Please meet the tour guide in the reception at the Museum of Lancashire. The walk will take approximately 1.5 hours and cover a distance of 1 mile. Please not that it is not a circular tour and will finish at the Harris Museum and Art Gallery. Sturdy walking shoes advised. There is free parking at the Museum of Lancashire.
Please note The Museum of Lancashire is now closed on Sundays, which will most likely mean that parking at the site is closed as well. There is a retail park opposite if you require parking.
Our guides will still meet you at the gates of the Museum of Lancashire, and the tour will begin from there.
