About this event
In this talk Dr John Jenkins explores the importance of John’s saintly relics to the medieval town and to the people of Beverley, and reveals why a miraculous healing oil began to flow from his shrine six centuries after his death.
John is the Assistant Director of the Centre for Pilgrimage Studies at the University of York. He was a key member of the planning and organisation committees for ‘Becket 2020’, the anniversary commemorations of Thomas Becket’s birth, death and translation.
