About this Event

The Yorkshire Philharmonic Choir is thrilled that John Rutter is coming to Wakefield on Saturday 28th September to lead a fun-filled and inspirational day of singing. Widely regarded as the UK's leading living composer of choral music, John's works have achieved worldwide popularity.

This singing day will include a mix of John’s own works and sacred anthems by other composers.

How much does the event cost?

Tickets are £20 and available only through this secure online portal.

How will I receive my ticket?

When you have completed your online registration and payment, you will receive your ticket by email. Please print your ticket and bring it with you on the day. Admission to the event is by ticket only.

Who should attend?

This relaxed and informal singing day is open to singers of all levels of experience and confidence.

Under-16s are welcome to attend but must be accompanied by a registered adult singer.

Do I need to be able to read music?

You do not need to be a perfect sight-singer, but it would be beneficial to have some experience of choral singing and music-reading ability.

Will lunch be available?

No, please make your own arrangements. We suggest bringing a packed lunch. Alternatively, the Queen Elizabeth Grammar School is only a 5-minute walk from Wakefield city centre where there are plenty of lunch options.

Tea, coffee and soft drinks will be available on-site during registration and break times.

Do I need to bring my own music?

No, all music will be provided on the day. There will be the option to purchase items of music. Otherwise, all music must be handed back to the organisers at the end of the day.

What are the parking/transport options to get to the event?

Parking: There is a large car park on-site.

Public Transport: Wakefield Bus Station (7-min walk) and Wakefield Westgate Rail Station (10-min walk)

The venue is wheelchair-accessible.
