Come and join us for an inclusive walk, we'll meet at Pickie Park cafe near the entrance with public toilets and close to the coastal path. https://w3w.co/silver.rooms.thigh

Meet from 10am with walk starting at 10.15am, when the group will be guided by Richard Franklyn on a gentle walk along the coastal path. We'll return to the car park and wrap up at 12noon. Wrap up warmly.

The aim of this event is to make the outdoors inclusive for all so trained instructors will be on hand to provide any necessary support/ guidance where required.

The gentle hike will be suitable for individuals (aged 18+) with disabilities, limited mobility and wheelchair users. The walk will follow a scenic route along the North Down Coastal Path.

The Inclusive walk series is organised in partnership with Ards and North Down Borough Council, Mountaineering Ireland and The Outdoor Partnership NI.

Route information:

This session will start at Pickie Park in Bangor and offer participants the chance to explore the Bangor section of the North Down Coastal Path. The walk will follow the Coastal path for approximately half a mile and then return to Pickie Park (total distance will be adjusted to enable all participants). The path is concrete or tarmac surface, smooth wide and accessible to all. The path starts flat then undulates slightly. It is suitable for wheelchair users.

Carers will be welcome to partake in the walks if they wish.

Facilities:

Free accessible parking available.

Back gate to Pickie Park is open when the park is open during weekdays.

Accessible toilets available behind the cafe, with catering facilities for after the walk.

Access from Marine Gardens, Free

Bangor railway and bus station is 15-20mins walk away, uphill from the shoreline
