Becoming a Youth Proofer for businesses & community groups while being an active citizen by setting up your own community project(s) in Cambridgeshire.

About YEP & Oblique Arts

"We are YEP, the Youth Engagement Project, a group of dedicated young people from across Cambridgeshire working with Oblique Arts and the Cambridgeshire County Council to improve our community. We aim to establish partnerships with Councils, Businesses, Community and Charity groups to inform and develop policies, facilities, activities and opportunities for young people across Cambridgeshire."

Oblique Arts has worked with the YEP! group since March’17, setting up and branding the YEP! committee and now we are ready to take it to the next step!

Training workshops:

YEP! group – active citizenship.

As a YEP! member you will look with the group for community engagement projects that personally motivate you and have positive impact in the lives of others. Throughout this personal relationship your engagement will result in both creative, imaginative and inspirational outcomes. The emphasis will be on the individuals to take ownership/leadership throughout the process, resulting in building on your active citizenship within your community. Oblique Arts will be there throughout the process, to support, guide and inspire the group to feel confident in their abilities to create this and more on-going community engagement projects.

YEP! group as key ‘Youth Proofers’
The YEP! group will form themselves into a well branded and marketed group who will have unique skills and services to offer to business and community partners. The current YEP! members have already developed some skills with website design and marketing using different media platforms. We would expect to enable new and old YEP! members to build upon these skills in order to offer a service whereby businesses may easily find the group and invite the group to assess provision for young people in particular.

You and the group will form meaningful relationships with various businesses and community groups. You will take part in visits, learning experiences and community events organised by community partners. The group will eventually be able to support events and provide feedback platforms for audiences to use both on and offline.

We already have established a partnership with the Junction in Cambridge for the YEP! members to go in as youth proofers.

If you would like to become a member of YEP! Please send us and e-mail explaining why you would like to get involved. If you have any questions please don't hestitate to contact us on or contact Sarah on:

*There will be additional dates to the workshops for other activities, such as outings and community workshops.
